Privacy Policy for the Integrity VPN App for Android
Updated: January 13, 2025
The Integrity VPN app is an app that allows users of Integrity VPN service to easily connect and disconnect the service on their Android devices. Integrity VPN app and Integrity VPN service are provided by the non-profit 5th of July Foundation in Sweden (official homepage: https://5july.org).
This policy contains the following segments:
- Overview/About us
- Applicable legislation (GDPR)
- Which information does the app collect?
- Which permissions does the app need and why?
- Which legal rights do I have?
- Changes to this policy
1. Overview/About us
Integrity VPN service is sold as an add-on by internet service providers (ISP’s) to their customers. The Integrity VPN app allows easy management of Integrity VPN service configuration and connection.
The Integrity VPN app accepts connections from account ID’s provided by the ISP. Any linking of account ID to other personal information can only be done by the ISP, not by the app. The app accepts a connection if the ISP indicates that the account ID has an active Integrity VPN subscription.
While connected to the Integrity VPN service, an account ID’s internet traffic is sent through an encrypted tunnel. Any data scheduled for transmission by an account ID is encrypted and decrypted locally on the bearer’s device.
2. Applicable legislation (GDPR)
Any processing of personal data within the context of Integrity VPN app falls under the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union as far as 5th of July Foundation is concerned. An ISP providing the Integrity VPN service as an add-on to customers may be bound by additional legislation, such as the European Union ePrivacy or Electronic Communications Codex legislations.
3. Which information does the app collect?
The app prompts the user for an account ID supplied by the ISP and a password associated with that account ID. The account ID is a pseudonym which 5th of July Foundation cannot tie to a subscriber identity at the ISP. The app may also store a QR code supplied by the ISP to enable the user to access the Integrity VPN service. These data are stored on the device in an encrypted form. They are transferred to the Integrity VPN service using an encrypted connection when necessary to establish a connection.
During an active VPN session, the Integrity VPN service servers register which IP address an account ID comes from and which IP address Integrity VPN service has given that account ID. This information is automatically deleted when the user disconnects the session.
Integrity VPN app does not log or store any traffic associated with any particular account ID. Integrity VPN service also does not log or store any traffic associated with any particular account ID.
The processing and storage of user data, as detailed above, takes place in Sweden. No user data is transferred to any other country. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Which permissions does the app need and why?
The Integrity VPN app will ask permission to access the camera of your system. Allowing camera access to Integrity VPN app enables pointing the camera to a QR code provided by the ISP to log in. It is also possible to log in with an account ID and a password, in which case camera access can be refused. The app will function without camera access.
5. Which legal rights do I have?
A natural person to whom an account ID has been issued has the following legal rights:
- Correction, amendments and deletion of data: any records of IP addresses can be deleted by terminating the connection to Integrity VPN service. An account ID can be deleted by removing the app or asking the app to forget the account ID. A password or QR code associated to an account ID is automatically purged if the account ID is purged. For technical reasons it is not possible to alter any of the data processed by the Integrity VPN app, and the Integrity VPN service does not function if the data is not correct.
- Access to the data: any data stored in the Integrity VPN app is accessible to the natural person operating the device where the app is installed, by opening the app.
- Disclosure of data: We do not disclose your data to any third party, except as required by law. For clarity we do not believe ourselves to be covered by any legal obligations to disclose data for any reason at the present time.
- Transfer of personal data to third countries: We do not transfer data to third countries.
- Right to make a complaint. The contact details for the data controller are as follows:

6. Changes to this policy
Changes to this policy will be communicated on this website with a change log as per below. Any major changes with implications for which personal data are processed will only be enacted once the natural person afforded an account ID has been given the option to terminate their Integrity VPN service.
