Become an ISP reseller of Integrity VPN

Integrity VPN is run by the Swedish non-profit 5th of July Foundation, and sold exclusively through ISP resellers.

If you are an ISP or similar, consider increasing the security, privacy and liberty of your customers by offering them Integrity VPN.

How to get started

It’s a fast and simple process to become a reseller of Integrity VPN. We will give you access to our API, so that your customers can order Integrity VPN in your own customer interface.

What it costs

You will typically buy the service from us for half the price per account that you charge your customers. There are no setup costs and no hidden fees. This gives you a predictable profit per account, without any risk.

We will send you an invoice every month, based on the current number of accounts.

You can lower the costs by letting us host our VPN servers in your own data center. This arrangement is suitable for larger ISPs. There are no setup fees here either, but we expect a certain number of customers.

What you gain

By offering Integrity VPN to your customers, you become a more full-fledged service provider.

You show your customers that you care about their security, privacy, and liberty, values that the 5th of July Foundation work to uphold in accordance with the UN resolution on human rights online.

In addition, you will make a monthly profit, without having to invest in new infrastructure.

About Integrity VPN

Integrity VPN is owned and run by the 5th of July Foundation, a Swedish NGO that was founded by internet pioneers in 2013 with the purpose to uphold and strengthen online human rights according to the UN resolution passed on the 5th of July 2012. Read more about us on our official homepage 5july.org.

Integrity VPN can only be ordered from resellers, usually Internet Service Providers. In other words, you can’t order Integrity VPN directly from us – we have no direct customers.

This unique business model means that we don’t have any data about our users. Our no log policy is therefore not just words: It is literally impossible for us to log or store any data, since we don’t have access to any data. (The only thing our servers see during an active VPN session is the IP address an account ID comes from, and the IP address it is given by Integrity VPN. This information is deleted automatically when you disconnect from Integrity VPN.)

Support and FAQ

This page in Swedish

Support is provided by the Internet Service Provider where you signed up for Integrity VPN, but here we help you to get started and answer some frequently asked questions.

How to get started with Integrity VPN

WireGuard

We recommend using Integrity VPN with the app WireGuard:

  1. Download the WireGuard app – it works in the basically same way on all platforms (macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android).
  2. Download your personal config file here. You must have an existing Integrity VPN account.
  3. Open (import) the file in the WireGuard app. Click “Activate” to connect to Integrity VPN, and “Deactivate” to disconnect.

For iOS and Android we recommend using our own app:

  • Integrity VPN in the App Store
  • Integrity VPN on Google Play

You are welcome to use our user forum if you have questions or suggestions.

OpenVPN

Integrity VPN also supports the OpenVPN protocol. Use our latest config file, dated 2021-02-17 (older config files don’t work anymore):

If you can’t download the file, try the zipped version and unpack it on your device:

Installation guides (currently in Swedish) for OpenVPN:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Ubuntu
  • iOS
  • Android

Frequently asked support questions

If you don’t find the answer here, check our user forum, where Integrity VPN users help each other.

I lost my password, what do I do?

Contact the ISP where you signed up for Integrity VPN. We do not have access to any account details, and we can’t give you a new password.

Can I run Integrity VPN in my router?

Generally, yes, but we do not give support on how to run Integrity VPN in a router, since there are simply too many brands and models out there. However, router implementations of Integrity VPN are frequently discussed in our forum, and router manufacturers also often provide support forums for their products.

Do I have a DNS leak?

A DNS leak is when a request to the DNS server occurs outside of the VPN tunnel. Integrity VPN users request our DNS servers within the VPN tunnel. A DNS test may show that the DNS server is owned by “Bahnhof.” That is because we have received our IP addresses from Bahnhof, a Swedish network operator. This is not a DNS leak.

Is a DNS leak always bad?

No. Many users prefer to use their own DNS servers. If you have manually entered your preferred DNS servers in your computer or router, tests for DNS leaks (including our own Integrity Check) will fail, but this is of course alright as long as it’s a result of your own active choice.

It’s common to enter your own DNS servers in your router, and sometimes routers come with preferred DNS servers pre-installed.

Which DNS servers do you use?

Integrity VPN uses its own DNS (Domain Name System) servers, with the following IP addresses:

  • 98.128.186.86
  • 155.4.89.136
  • 79.136.77.113
  • 2001:9b1:8826::53
  • 2001:9b0:4:2601::53

I can’t connect in the Integrity VPN app for iOS or Android

If it has worked before, but you suddenly can’t connect to a certain country in the Integrity VPN app anymore, click the Settings icon and click on “Empty cache” further down in the menu. If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling the app. On iOS, long press the app icon, click “Remove App”, then “Delete App”. Then download it again from the App Store.

I can’t access my printer while connected to Integrity VPN

If you have a network printer, or any other device on your local network that disappears when you’re connected to Integrity VPN, try this:

  • On Mac, go to “Manage Tunnels” in the WireGuard menu, choose a tunnel (config file) and click “Edit”. Check the checkbox “Exclude private IPs”. This should exclude your local IP addresses from the VPN tunnel, and you should be able to access your local network.
  • On PC with Windows 11, open WireGuard, choose a tunnel (config file) and click “Edit”. Uncheck the checkbox “Block untunneled traffic (kill-switch)”.

If this doesn’t work, you can try to manually add IP addresses after “Allowed IPs” under the heading “[Peer]” in the config file itself, which is visible in the field above the checkbox. (You can see how this text changes depending on the state of the checkbox, and you can also edit it manually.)

How do I register an account for Integrity VPN?

Integrity VPN doesn’t have any direct customers. You can only sign up for Integrity VPN through an internet service provider (currently primarily in Sweden and Finland) that offers Integrity VPN.

If your ISP doesn’t offer their customers Integrity VPN, ask them to contact us to become a reseller of Integrity VPN.

How do I know that I’m connected to Integrity VPN?

You can always check “the thumb” on the front page of our website. A green “thumbs up” means you’re connected to Integrity VPN, and a flag indicates through which country. A red “thumbs down” means you’re not connected to Integrity VPN. Your current IP address is displayed above the thumb.

We provide more details about your connection at ipcheck.5july.net.

My VPN connection is too slow

Integrity VPN is designed to be fast and secure. You should be able to get almost the same speeds as without VPN, provided you’re using WireGuard.

Some examples of speeds that have been shared in our user forum (download/upload in Mbps):

Without VPN With Integrity VPN
94/95 91/91
156/11,7 134/11,2
242/100 215/96
945/936 906/826

If you run Integrity VPN in a router, the speed may be lower, since routers are not as powerful as computers, phones, etc, and therefore can’t encrypt and decrypt the traffic at the same speed.

The speed of your VPN connection may be affected by your hardware, operating system, firewalls, settings, other applications, and where you connect from.

Policy questions

Who are the owners of Integrity VPN?

Integrity VPN is owned and run by the 5th of July Foundation in Sweden. This is a non-profit foundation that works to protect the human rights of internet users, by advocacy and by providing concrete tools for this purpose. Integrity VPN is one of those tools. The 5th of July Foundation was founded by Swedish internet veterans with a solid track record of standing up for free speech and the rule of law. You can see who we are here:

https://5july.org/about

Do you log or store any data?

No. Integrity VPN has a unique technical setup in that the service is sold by Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) to their customers. As a pure bulk provider of technical services to the ISP’s, we do not have any customers or customer data. We simply give VPN access to account ID’s from the ISP’s. To be clear: It is impossible for us to store any data, since we don’t have access to any data, beyond what is technically necessary to establish a VPN connection, data which is automatically deleted immediately when you disconnect from Integrity VPN.

Our privacy policy outlines the legal and formal aspects of our service.

What is the 5july.net domain where I create my WireGuard file?

5july.net and 5july.org are the domains of the non-profit 5th of July Foundation in Sweden, the owner of Integrity VPN. We use the org domain for the policy work of our organization, and the net domain for our network of technical services, which includes Integrity VPN. (For historical reasons, Integrity VPN uses the domain integrity.st for its public website.)
